"36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators, and visual artists to express their particular view on the letters and numbers of our alphabet." —36daysoftype.com
In three years I sought to experiment and and try completely different approaches to type design and typography:
In the most recent campaign I decided to combine a new interest in food styling and food photography with my undying love for typography. Over 26 consecutive days, I cooked, carved, sculpted, staged, shot, edited, and ate every single thing you see in these photos. The result, a series titled “TastyType,” is an expression of three of my favourite things in life: food, photography, and typography.
In 2017, I created a series that captures the geometric modularity of the alphabet and uses a few simple shapes to represent each letterform.
In 2016 I handlettered submissions honouring heritage letterforms from various eras with a few experimental interpretations for good measure.

I take a lot of pride in my city and community; so when OnTheGrid asked me if I wanted to contribute to the Vancouver guide I was delighted. I created a list of my favourite spots in Vancouver's West End, made contact with the people running these spots, and ran photoshoots and interviews accordingly. This was the outcome.
